hiLyte developed a consumable based iron battery that generates enough power to charge a phone and light a LED for 5 hours. The consumables (iron, paper and iron salt) are completely clean and the reaction doesn’t emit any toxic chemical. It is the only solution that provides clean, safe, affordable and on-demand electricity in rural Africa.

The device was built with feedback from the field in Tanzania, and tested during a month with local families. In order to start pilot sales, a crowdfunding was started and your support is more than needed! buying a battery, you will not only get it at home but also give one to a family in need in Tanzania, and help the implementation of a project that could replace kerosene lamps and save up to 225 million tons of CO2 per year.
