The Swiss Climate Foundation supports 24 SMEs in the implementation of projects to fight climate change. At its first meeting, the Foundation Board allocated a total of CHF 2.4 million to these projects. The total budget for 2020 has been increased from CHF 3 to 4 million. The projects supported include both approaches aimed at reducing CO2 emissions and innovative technologies for the long-term storage of CO2. There is also a real boom in biogas processing. Since 2008, the Swiss Climate Foundation has been supporting innovative SMEs that develop concrete projects for climate protection in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The budget allocated to these projects has increased steadily over the years. The Board of Trustees has also increased the 2020 annual budget from three to four million Swiss francs in order to be able to take into account the numerous applications that meet the required criteria. With these additional funds, the Swiss Climate Foundation is also providing valuable support to many small and medium-sized enterprises, which are among those most affected by the coronavirus crisis.
